![]() All of the data this time tracking software collects is stored on the user's device – no tracking data is stored in the cloud, and no one else can access it. TimeBro's daily work tracker puts particular emphasis on user privacy. This means you don't have to worry about forgetting to start a time tracker manually – everything happens automatically. The automatic nature of timeBro is a major benefit – similarly to other time recording apps like DeskTime, timeBro launches the moment you turn on your computer. This time tracker software logs your daily activities and separates them into time entries that are displayed in a visual timeline, giving you a quick overview of what you were doing at any given moment. TimeBro is an automatic time tracking tool that records everything you do throughout the day. This in turn ensures that you can accurately bill your clients while maintaining the peace of mind that the human errors in manual time reporting are eliminated. Thankfully, Insightful is able to accomplish this by automatically assigning work to projects to not disturb employees while counting every second that they spend on them, giving you a good estimate of the project’s costs. For example, it’s well known that tracking productivity is difficult and, at the same time, important. For two, it runs in the background and tracks their work or non-work related activities without violating their privacy (for example, with optional, blurred out screenshots).Īnother important part of Insightful is that it can do automatic time allocation as well as budget forecasting. For one, the application makes it super easy to check when employees start work because it’s done automatically based on when they start work. Insightful is a suite of online time and attendance software that puts focus on employee work time tracking and on analyzing their work productivity to find out which are laggards and which are top performers. This is especially true for its user-friendly, easy-to-navigate web app which can be accessed from anywhere for viewing of your and your current team’s progress. ![]() In terms of feel and use, Clockify has many integrations and has a simple, sleek, and intuitive interface regardless of what supported device or browser you decide to use it on. Finally, Clockify provides visually pleasing reports for you to see as a way to gauge which projects take up most of your team’s time, giving way to being able to better manage you and your team’s effort. There’s even a reminder in case someone forgets to start the timer. The timer itself is a stopwatch that helps your team start and stop work, and the default project works with it by being the default timer that will automatically allocate the time to the project of your choosing. If you’re a part of a team and you’re looking to track time that you and they spend on projects, Clockify is the work time tracking software that can help you do this really well with features such as timer and default project. ![]() ![]() ![]() Arab Springįor some, Twitter and Facebook embody the stereotype of a disconnected, smartphone-toting young person. ![]() ![]() ![]() Finding Kokura obscured by cloud cover, the Bockscar’s crew decided to head to their secondary target, Nagasaki. Nagasaki Wasn't the Original TargetĮarly on the morning of August 9, 1945, the B-29 known as Bockscar took off from Tinian Island in the western Pacific Ocean, carrying the nearly 10,000-pound plutonium-based bomb known as “Fat Man” toward Kokura, home to a large Japanese arsenal. Army Corps of Engineers, director of the Manhattan Project, the president had authorized the dropping of additional bombs on the Japanese cities of Kokura (present-day Kitakyushu), Niigata and Nagasaki as soon as the weather permitted. According to an order drafted in late July by Lt. Kennedy also encouraged Americans to build private shelters, the estimated number of which rose from 60,000 in June 1961 to some 200,000 in 1965.But even as Truman issued his statement, a second atomic attack was already in the works. Kennedy expanded the nation’s civil defense programs, calling for more than $200 million in appropriations for the construction of public fallout shelters in the United States. Community shelters were constructed beneath municipal buildings, and emergency government bunkers were carved into hillsides.ĭuring the crisis over Berlin in mid-1961, President John F. Families across the country (at least those who could afford it) built fallout shelters in their basements and backyards. In schools, children learned to “duck and cover,” diving under their desks and staying far away from windows in drills designed to protect them during an atomic strike. With Cold War tensions escalating in the 1950s, the threat of a Soviet nuclear attack cast a terrifying shadow over everyday American life. The fear of nuclear war also affected people in the US. The Atomic Bombs ended the war a good few months ahead of schedule, and saved countless lives. An invasion would have been a bloodbath, a devastating ordeal for both of the sides involved in it. Schoolgirls were taught how to fire, reload and maintain standard issue combat rifles to defend the home islands, an entire air wing was in reserve to use as Kamikaze attack planes to disrupt shipping and to sink landing craft. Every able man, woman and child were armed with what was left of the available arms. The Japanese sought to perform Ketsu-go or "Decisive Battle" to weaken the allied advance, if not outright destroy it, and force the allies to retreat. To quote President Truman, he knew that an invasion of the Japanese home islands would be an "Okinawa from one end of Japan to the other." a bloody struggle. In fact, the Japanese Government formed a National Militia to defend the home islands in case of invasion. These invasions would have resulted in the deaths of millions of allied troops and an larger, untold number of Japanese military personnel and civilians. Operation Downfall would oversee these invasions and would provide logistical support. 1945 focused on taking Kyushu island while Coronet focused on taking the areas around Tokyo in Spring, 1946. Operation Olympic, planed to commence in Nov. Truman chose the atomic bombs over an invasion of the home islands of Japan, these invasions were called Operation Olympic and Coronet, classified under Operation Downfall. The Atomic Bombings were necessary to end the war quickly with the least amount of bloodshed. Sorry for the over-detailed paragraphs and complex wording. Estimates say that only about 20% of the 13.6 pound P-239 core underwent fission, throwing the other 11 pounds away, scattered in the nearby areas. Conventional explosive, surrounded by Uranium-238, were placed around the plutonium core, and when they exploded, they sent a shock wave of energy and force, which was reflected by the U-238 by its neutron reflecting properties, to the aforementioned core, causing it to undergo nuclear fission. The material that fueled it was Plutonium-239. The bomb that was used on Nagasaki, "Fat Man," was an imploding-type bomb that was more powerful, as well as complex. Once the "bullet" has struck the spike at the front, the atoms split, causing an explosion, along with a mushroom cloud. Basically, a small explosive in the back launches a hollow uranium "bullet" to the front of the bomb, where a target cylinder or spike of sorts is waiting for it. The first bomb, which was used on Hiroshima, "Little Boy," was a Uranium-235 gun-type fission weapon. This process is called "nuclear fission." There are two types of bombs that were dropped. ![]() It can be achieved by bringing an element to "critical mass," which means that it's so dense that it can't be packed any tighter. When aforementioned atom is split, massive amounts of energy are released. The way the bomb works is this: inside of the bomb, an atom is split. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I could not do that with the logitech 3d pro. With the Gladiator NXT Evo I was flying at 100% all 3 settings and it was super responsive yet precise. I'm currently flying with all these at 100% but asking someone to do that with out any practice is simply asking too much. I cant emphasize this enough, these are training wheel settings. You can always lower it later but for getting started it helps with stability. This isnt because your stick isnt in calibrated, its simply to give you a little wiggle room for when you use twist axis since you inherently add some Y or X axis usually, it minimizes the bleed over if that makes any sense. This will smooth out your smaller inputs making fine adjustments easier, this is probably by far the most important. Set non linearity for all axis X,Y,Z to 2.0 to 2.3:ĭouble click on the axis to make the menu option pop up. The following goal will be stability with a minimal impact to responsiveness, with the eventual goal of increasing responsivness over time: ![]() These are going to be just gettings started settings but they should get you close to where you want to be starting out. Once youve done a simple calibration lets move on to the game itself. This isnt going to happen over night but you will get better, Ive noticed it takes about a week for me to adjust to new flight sticks or settings and then its like something just clicks.įirst things first, the Gladiator with a simple calibration is simply amazing for war thunder. The wobble is there but its due to settings not being set up correctly regardless of joystick. I started with a logitech 3dpro, then Gladiator NXT Evo, and as of yesterday I've been using a gunfighter3 mcg ultimate. I actually play realistic battles with joystick and have been since 2014 so I might be in a unique position to help you with this. It's just way easier to aim with a mouse then a joystick in War Thunder and unless you're playing the sim mode and want as much of an immersive experience as you can get in this game you're better off just sticking with keyboard and mouse if you want to do well. Ideally I'd like to be able to fly with a joystick but also have mouse aim active so I could have the immersion but switch to a mouse when I needed it for better aim, but last time I tried you can't do that, or it's janky enough that I didn't feel it was usable. So you have to use a hat on the stick or take your hand off the stick and look around with the mouse. Then you have the issue of looking around which is absolutely necessary to always be looking around and not super easy to do with just the joystick unless you also have something like Track IR. Changing the sensitivity in game can help but it's still not easy to aim at least compared to how easy it is in mouse aim mode. The planes just tend to bounce around a lot making it hard to get on or stay on target. Aiming at ground targets is fairly difficult, but A2A is a bit better. So yeah sorry this is more of a rant post then real help.īack when I first started playing the game like 7-8 years ago I made quite an effort to fly with my MS Sidewinder I was using at the time. It's been a long time since I've put any effort into using a joystick with War Thunder so It might be a bit different now but I doubt it. ![]() ![]() ![]() I guess I’m going to have to generate some more paper to get that certificate. After getting this report, I pawed through my QSL file and found cards from 18 countries that weren’t QSLed via LOTW, so I’m still 13 short for DXCC. I haven’t figured out how to do that yet.Īccording to RUMLog, I have 142 countries worked, but only 69 confirmed. To get it to show LOTW QSLs, you have to somehow feed it information that you download from LOTW. QSO’s can be exported by ADIF, signed (using the ARRL supplied applications) and uploaded to LoTW. ![]() Not only that, it shows what type of QSL you have, either a paper QSL or a Logbook of the World (LOTW) QSL. MacLoggerDx’s integration with LotW is a little looser: MacLoggerDX supports LoTW and eQSL with Ham standard ADIF files. It also has a very nice way of showing you what countries you’ve worked, on what bands you’ve worked them, and whether or not you’ve QSLed that country or not. If I’ve taken notes about a previous conversation, I can pick up right where I left off. So, now, when I type in a callsign, the program searches the database, finds all the previous contacts I’ve had with that station, and then displays them in spreadsheet style WITH the notes. One of the coolest things is that it did import the notes from my N3FJP ADIF file properly. I’m happy to report that this version likes my computer a lot better, and I like using it a lot! Since RUMLog was still free, I decided to give the new version (v 3.0, March 15, 2008) a go. Well, a couple of weeks ago, I’d had enough and decided to start searching again. Since I had paid for it, though, I was reluctant to just dump it. ![]() It also had an odd way of doing notes about a contact, and I was disappointed to find out that it didn’t import the notes from the ADIF file I created from the N3FJP logging program I used previously. The 3D map is beautiful and the DX Clusters are extensive and open up Ham possibilities. If it is not intuitive enough, they have links that include youtube setup and use videos. MacloggerDX is impressive with drop down menus that make set up easy. Another pain was that it carried over none of the information from the previous contact, so you had to enter all of the information from scratch, even if you didn’t change frequencies or bands. Software designed for the Mac is just better. I have a fresh install of macOS Sierra on my 2011 iMac, so below you’ll see how it is done from the start. For one thing, it took forever to do any kind of sort or look up previous QSOs. Getting MacLoggerDX and JS8Call v2.1 working together was fairly easy. I ended up purchasing Aether, but was never very happy with it. I found one that was kind of expensive ( MacLoggerDX) one that was free, but didn’t want to work so well ( RUMLog) and one that worked OK and cost somewhere in between the first two ( Aether).
